The Saklıkent Gorge is 300 m deep and 18 km long, and is one of the deepest in the world. It was formed through the abrasion of the rocks by the flowing waters over thousands of years. Visitors can enter the canyon year-round but as the level of water rises in winter, the deeper parts are accessible only in summer. After April, when most of the snow on the Taurus Mountains has melted and passed through on its way to the Mediterranean Sea, four kilometers of the canyon are walkable.
Saklıkent means "hidden city" in Turkish. The full length of the gorge is 18 km and it is only possible to discover it with professional equipment and knowledge of advanced canyoning. Some adventure centers offer guided tours which feature about 30 waterfall rappelling destinations and an overnight stay at Biwak Camp.
Saklikent is 50 km west of the center of Antalya, in the Beydag mountain range, with an altitude of 2,550 m. Because of its proximity to Antalya, it is one of the few places in the world that people can ski in the morning and swim in the sea in the afternoon.
The resort can be reached from the center of Antalya by bus, taxi, or hotel shuttle bus service in an hour.
The altitude for the skiing areas is between 2,000 and 2,400 m, with a snow depth of 0.5-1 m. The season is short.
The resort has a pension with 14 beds, a restaurant, a café, and local teahouses. There are two T-bars, and two ski runs of easy/moderate level.
